we have spent 4 days in superior double room with "twin beds ", ac, for instance. the location was ideal - short walk to amarante, lamego, peso regua, caldas de aregos, pinhão, vila real, porto, ancede, guimarães, coimbra, a very nice restaurant in nearby resende, and the railway station via a gate.

Fantastic place with great style, direct access and view to the Douro River. We were welcomed with Champagne, chocolate and cake for our honeymoon in our beautiful suite with a four-poster-bed. The staff was very helpful and waiting till midnight for the guests to come. The house and the surrounding area of the hotel is just first class charming. You will not forget it.
On the one hand, the train track is only 30 m away, so the hotel´s back garden door leads to the next station, but on the other hand, the regional train can naturally be heard, even only for a few secods / once per hour, and usually not during the night. We had the window open and it was no problem. Nearby (20 km) one has to search intensively to find good restaurants. The breakfast was served in a familiar way, but not very diverse.

Beautiful old home and property located right on the Douro River with great views. Lovely, quiet atmosphere ( except for the train that passes above occasionally). Very relaxing. Great pool and grounds to wander through. Friendly, attentive staff and excellent, very generous meals.
Internet was not working, but was being fixed, so only a temporary issue I assume. While sleeping, we were startled a few times by the train coming out of the tunnel, but we quickly got used to it.

I absolutely adored the charming and colonial Portuguese style of the Quinta. The decorations were lovely and added a touch of elegance to the entire place. The general areas of the hotel were also very well-maintained and clean. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The staff was always ready to assist me, making my stay comfortable and hassle-free.
I would have liked to see the children working there more attentive and helpful towards senior guests.

The Quinta offers a charming old house with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is homemade and delicious, with large portions. The location next to the Douro river is beautiful, with a nice garden and swimming pool area. The hotel provides easy access to tours with the nearby railway. Perfect for solo travelers.
Felt cozy, no reason to complain.
